| Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity | Rook Accounting has developed accounting software designed to help businesses efficiently manage their financial operations. As with any financial application, the accuracy, reliability, and usability of the platform are critical to ensuring users can confidently manage accounting transactions and produce dependable financial reports. Before new features and enhancements are released, it is essential to thoroughly test the software under a variety of real-world accounting scenarios. Even minor errors in journal entries, account balances, financial statement generation, or reporting logic can lead to inaccurate financial information, reduced customer confidence, and increased support requirements. Rook Accounting is seeking students to serve as an independent quality assurance team by performing common accounting tasks within the software, evaluating how the system processes transactions, identifying defects or usability issues, and recommending improvements. Students will apply their accounting knowledge while gaining hands-on experience working with an integrated accounting platform and participating in a real-world software testing process. This project provides students with the opportunity to bridge accounting principles and technology by helping improve the functionality, reliability, and user experience of a commercial financial software solution.
