Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Knock Knock Give a Sock (KKGS) is dedicated to humanizing homelessness through community engagement and education. Traditionally, this has been achieved through in-person events like "Meet Your Neighbor" dinners and sock drives to foster awareness and empathy towards homelessness within neighborhoods. With the onset of COVID-19, KKGS has transitioned much of their programming to virtual platforms and now seeks to expand and enhance these efforts.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
Develop a Children's Book

  • Write a children’s book aimed at humanizing homelessness, focusing on Street Homelessness and Family Homelessness.
  • Create two end-of-book readings, each 300 words or less, to convey the realities and challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
Virtual Event Planning

  • Plan and execute virtual events such as "Meet Your Neighbors" webinars to replicate the community engagement of in-person events.
  • Design interactive and engaging formats for these virtual events to maximize participant involvement and impact.
Advocacy Campaign

  • Utilize social media, email marketing, and other online tools to spread awareness and drive engagement with KKGS’s mission.
