Project Scope:

In this project the student will select machine learning a supply chain application and they will implement it using Taipy.  The outcome will be a video demo, a complete application that can be used for demo or implemented in practice. 


Objectives/deliverables, team responsibilities

  1. Select a supply chain application such as: (2 weeks)

 Examples of applications are: 

  • Network Design 
  • Inventory Optimization 
  • Procurement Optimization and scoring of suppliers
  • Aggregate planning 

  1. Download data from the web. 
  2. Validate the model and present the report/presentation/results/signals methodology   (10 weeks)

The team can develop in any software platform such as: 

  • Taipy (Python)

Team Skills

  • Strong Data science skills
  • Python skills is a MUST

  • BIA 650 and BIA 674 preferrable

Company Overview:

Taipy  (www.taipy.com) is an innovative low-code package (python) to create complete applications.


Taipy is composed of two main independent components: Taipy Core and Taipy GUI. You can use either component independently. However, as you will see, they are incredibly efficient when combined.


What is Taipy GUI? 

The Graphical User Interface of Taipy allows anyone with basic knowledge of Python to create a beautiful and interactive interface. It is a simple and intuitive way to create a GUI. No need to know how to design web pages with CSS or HTML. Taipy uses an augmented Markdown syntax to create your desired Web page.


What is Taipy Core? 

A simple yet powerful pipeline orchestration package.

Wednesday, March 8th is the chronological midpoint of the semester. As you all know, you will have a virtual midterm presentation (no corporate partners invited) and a virtual final presentation (corporate partners invited). The purpose of the midterm presentation is to showcase your work thus far as well as any roadblocks, challenges, successes, and strategy for the remainder of the semester.


I am looking to schedule the midterm presentations for some time between March 6th - 10th or March 20th - 24th (no presentations during spring break). Scheduling information will be emailed to all MBA Leads during February - stay tuned!
