| Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity | MōMI Skincare, an e-commerce business, recently launched in the fall of 2022, and is struggling to find a niche in an extremely concentrated and competitive market. The founders are two professional women with a strong background in science, and a love for skincare. After
extensive research, they have developed two highly effective skincare serums by using ingredients derived from nature as well as a lab. These products seamlessly combine ingredients from Ayurvedic roots as well as conventional science. They have a multitude of benefits, such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles, decreasing hyperpigmentation, and producing collagen, all which help with anti-aging. The goal of MōMI products is to help streamline skincare into a few simple steps. We have been conscious of using highly potent ingredients which produce the maximum benefit. Our products are Leaping Bunny Certified, meaning they have not undergone any form of animal testing www.momiskin.com Instagram and Tik Tok @mymomiskin Facebook @momiskin |
| Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required |
This fall, we are looking for a team of students to assist with marketing and social media plan execution, including sales and social media analysis. We are also looking to continue with our business plan development.
1. We want to build a business plan which can detail how to establish an awareness of the brand MōMI and produce committed users of the skincare line.
The objective of this project will be to write and construct a solid business plan with the intended audience being men and women who are committed to using MōMI Skincare products which have been formulated for the busy individual. “Products That Multitask So You Don’t Have to”. 2. We want to increase our Instagram and Facebook followers. Social Media is a platform that can help build brand awareness and help find a niche of people with a similar philosophy on skincare. Our target audience is any person between the ages of 20 and 65 who wants to implement a simple skincare routine, and those who appreciate the Eastern culture and medicinal practice. We would like help in developing a step by step approach in reaching out to the millions of skincare lovers and determining what converts them into a loyal follower. We would like the students to determine what factors make an Instagram and/or Facebook account successful? How to increase the number of followers? What tools have been tried and tested and which ones to not waste a marketing budget on? 3. Develop a marketing plan to sell our products, whether in person or online. We believe a marketing plan targeted at selling our products is the most important part of the business plan. We would like the students to brainstorm ideas and develop strategies to sell our products, whether in person or online. At the end of the day, we need our products to fly off the shelves. What avenues are available to sell skincare lines, and which are more successful than others? What marketing techniques do we need to focus on? Which ones are more successful than others? We need help in making our products “Contagious” - meaning everyone who likes skincare products wants to try them and fall in love with them. We need to create a BUZZ. And doing all of this with a limited marketing budget!!! |
| Project Synopsis: Expected Results | We are looking for graduate students who are eager to learn more about our skin-care company, and help us refine our business plan & effectively utilize social media to grow the business.
