Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Universities are increasingly vulnerable to a wide array of cyber threats, including phishing, ransomware, and data breaches. Often, security awareness training methods fail to effectively engage or impart practical knowledge to staff, leading to a gap in cybersecurity preparedness.   UM's current security awareness and training solution does not include licensing for students, due to cost.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
This project aims to develop a proof of concept for using generative AI to create dynamic, engaging, and branded security awareness training videos.
  • Utilize generative AI to produce realistic video scenarios depicting various cyber threats. This will include crafting narratives, dialogues, and visual elements that resonate with the university's environment, specifically aligned to UM branding.
  • Integrate interactive elements into the training videos, such as quizzes and decision-making scenarios, to reinforce learning and assess comprehension.
  • Determine whether training should be different for the two main categories of campus users, staff and students, and adjust training accordingly.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
Success for this project is defined as a proof-of-concept cost-effective replacement for our existing security awareness and training platform, while incorporating UM style and branding and expanding user scope to include UM students.
