Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
The FamilySearch YouTube channel serves as a vital platform for disseminating information and resources to its audience. However, with the constant evolution of digital media consumption patterns, there is a need to reassess the channel's content organization and strategy to effectively engage a broader and younger demographic. This project aims to conduct a comprehensive audit of the FamilySearch YouTube channel and propose actionable findings based on recent research carried out by students. The goal is to reorganize the channel's content in a manner that aligns with the non-profit's purpose while effectively reaching and engaging with a wider audience.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
·      Audit of FamilySearch YouTube Channel: Review of existing content including videos, playlists, and engagement metrics.
·      Analysis of audience demographics and viewer engagement patterns.
·      Evaluation of content relevance, quality, and effectiveness in meeting the organization's goals.
·      Recent Research on Engaging a Broader and Younger Audience: Study findings from recent research conducted by students on digital media consumption habits of younger demographics.
·      Analysis of successful strategies employed by other industry friends or similar organizations to reach and engage younger audiences.

Project Synopsis: Expected Results
For FamilySearch, the success of the social media campaign targeting Gen Z hinges on measurable outcomes:

  1. Increased Awareness: Measure growth in brand awareness through reach, impressions, and mentions.
  2. Enhanced Engagement: Track likes, comments, shares, and user-generated content submissions.
  3. Community Growth: Monitor growth in followers, group memberships, and interactions within FamilySearch communities.
  4. User Interaction: Assess click-through rates, completion rates for interactive elements, and time spent on campaign-related content.
  5. Conversion and Retention: Measure sign-ups, registrations, and ongoing platform usage among Gen Z users.
  6. Sentiment Analysis: Utilize sentiment analysis tools to gauge the overall perception of the campaign and FamilySearch among the target audience.

By focusing on these key metrics, we can effectively evaluate the impact and success of the campaign in engaging the Gen Z demographic and driving participation on the FamilySearch platform.
